For five years the neighborhood has asked for a community fridge. This year a group of 29 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Freedom Park, but no funding. We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $400. It will serve about 475 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in August and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $400 goes: • Permits and inspections: $50 • Materials: $300 • Tools hire and delivery: $50 Every share and every dollar helps.
