Flood in Liverpool: help Lakeview village rebuild
After the flood, families in Lakeview village need clean water, roofing materials and bedding.
🇬🇧 United Kingdom2,273 views
The flood hit Lakeview village on 23 August. My home was one of 66 damaged, and 2 families are still in temporary shelter at a mosque and church hall.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
We buy supplies locally and in bulk, so the money goes further. Receipts and photos will be posted in updates.
Where the $7,850 goes:
• Clean water and purification supplies: $780
• Food parcels for displaced families: $600
• Roofing sheets and timber: $4,650
• Tools and labor for repairs: $1,820
I hope life is good to you.
- Harold

thanks for sharing this. More neighborhoods should do this. I hope November is when things finally get easier. God bless.
Stay strong. Great idea, hope you get there. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Take care.
