Flash flood in Shubra: help the families of Northside Lane rebuild
The flash flood damaged 39 homes in the families of Northside Lane. We are raising funds for repairs, supplies and temporary shelter.

The flash flood hit the families of Northside Lane on 6 January. My home was one of 39 damaged, and 14 families are still in temporary shelter at the sports club.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
We buy supplies locally and in bulk, so the money goes further. Receipts and photos will be posted in updates.
Where the $1,000 goes:
• Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $125
• Roofing sheets and timber: $390
• Tools and labor for repairs: $390
• Clean water and purification supplies: $95
I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.

Hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day. Take care
Keep going, Sami. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Please keep us posted. Take care.
So sorry you're going through this. Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. My neighbor in Malang donated after I showed her your page.
