San Jose
Óscar was diagnosed with stomach cancer in July. The oncology team at San Jose University Hospital has planned 10 rounds of treatment, starting in October. He will be away from work for about 12 weeks. Óscar is 43, worked as a farmer until July, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to San Jose University Hospital 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $12,500 goes: • Scans and lab work: $1,550 • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $10,000 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $950 Every share and every dollar helps. - Amparo
