John was diagnosed with stomach cancer in July. The oncology team at Mississauga Cancer Centre has planned 4 rounds of treatment, starting in November. He will be away from work for about 10 weeks. John is 28, worked as a bakery worker until July, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Mississauga Cancer Centre 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $9,850 goes: • Transport to Mississauga Cancer Centre: $450 • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $6,500 • Household costs while unable to work: $1,350 • Scans and lab work: $1,550 Thank you so much. - Ezra
