Hiền was diagnosed with stomach cancer in August. The oncology team at the Thủ Đức Oncology Institute has planned 8 rounds of treatment, starting in November. She will be away from work for about 8 weeks.
Hiền is 58, worked as a bank teller until August, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to the Thủ Đức Oncology Institute 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $1,100 goes:
• Scans and lab work: $270
• Household costs while unable to work: $220
• Transport to the Thủ Đức Oncology Institute: $70
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $540
