Bahir Dar
Tewodros was diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer in April. The oncology team at Bahir Dar Regional Medical Center has planned 4 rounds of treatment, starting in July. He will be away from work for about 6 weeks. Tewodros is 49, worked as a farmer until April, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Bahir Dar Regional Medical Center 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $1,050 goes: • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $110 • Household costs while unable to work: $250 • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $550 • Transport to Bahir Dar Regional Medical Center: $140 I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support. - Getachew
