Fighting prostate cancer: help Mia afford treatment in Aberdeen
10 rounds of treatment are planned at Aberdeen Cancer Centre; we're asking for help with the costs insurance doesn't cover.

Mia was diagnosed with prostate cancer in January. The oncology team at Aberdeen Cancer Centre has planned 10 rounds of treatment, starting in April. She will be away from work for about 4 weeks.
Mia is 53, worked as a bus conductor until January, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Aberdeen Cancer Centre 2 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $8,500 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $5,250
• Scans and lab work: $930
• Transport to Aberdeen Cancer Centre: $690
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $580
• Household costs while unable to work: $1,050
