Fighting prostate cancer: help Esther afford treatment in Badagry
Esther is facing prostate cancer and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.

In August I was diagnosed with prostate cancer. My oncology team at Badagry Cancer Centre has planned 6 rounds of treatment, and the first starts in October. I was told to expect about 3 weeks away from work.
I never imagined I'd be writing something like this. I'm 49, I worked as a cleaner at a hospital until August, and I have been the main earner for my household.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, transport to Badagry Cancer Centre 2 times a week, and the income I have lost add up quickly.
My family is doing everything they can, but we've already sold what we could and are borrowing for groceries.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $1,600 goes:
• Household costs while unable to work: $320
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $1,100
• Transport to Badagry Cancer Centre: $180
