Priya was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma in June. The oncology team at Paarl Cancer Centre has planned 10 rounds of treatment, starting in August. She will be away from work for about 5 weeks.
Priya is 27, worked as a bakery worker until June, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Paarl Cancer Centre 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
