Fighting multiple myeloma: help Lincoln afford treatment in San Jose

Lincoln is facing multiple myeloma and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.

San Jose
Lincoln was diagnosed with multiple myeloma in November. The oncology team at the San Jose Oncology Institute has planned 12 rounds of treatment, starting in January. He will be away from work for about 4 weeks. Lincoln is 37, worked as a farmer until November, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to the San Jose Oncology Institute 3 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders. I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes. Where the $10,050 goes: • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $6,500 • Scans and lab work: $520 • Transport to the San Jose Oncology Institute: $670 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $630 • Household costs while unable to work: $1,730 Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself. - Jordan

Updates from Jordan

  1. Thank you all. We're at 52% now ($5,183). I'm honestly stunned. the plan for scans and lab work is now scheduled.

  2. Good news. Because of your gifts ($2,238 in total) the first invoice got paid this week. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.
