Eva was diagnosed with multiple myeloma in July. The oncology team at San Francisco Regional Medical Center has planned 10 rounds of treatment, starting in August. She will be away from work for about 4 weeks.
Eva is 55, worked as a farmer until July, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to San Francisco Regional Medical Center 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.

• Transport to San Francisco Regional Medical Center: $830
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $4,900
• Household costs while unable to work: $1,770

I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money.
