Abubakar was diagnosed with multiple myeloma in April. The oncology team at Gwagwalada Regional Medical Center has planned 4 rounds of treatment, starting in June. He will be away from work for about 12 weeks.
Abubakar is 50, worked as a bakery worker until April, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Gwagwalada Regional Medical Center 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
