Fighting kidney cancer: help Palesa afford treatment in Ekurhuleni
Palesa is facing kidney cancer and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.

Palesa was diagnosed with kidney cancer in December. The oncology team at Ekurhuleni University Hospital has planned 12 rounds of treatment, starting in March. She will be away from work for about 12 weeks.
Palesa is 41, worked as a shop owner until December, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Ekurhuleni University Hospital 3 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.

• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $140
