Jaxon was diagnosed with early-stage lung cancer in January. The oncology team at Newcastle University Hospital has planned 12 rounds of treatment, starting in March. He will be away from work for about 6 weeks. Jaxon is 54, worked as a primary school teacher until January, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Newcastle University Hospital 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders. I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes. Where the $8,000 goes: • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $4,850 • Scans and lab work: $800 • Transport to Newcastle University Hospital: $940 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $520 • Household costs while unable to work: $890 Glad we found this place.
