Fighting cervical cancer: help Yakubu afford treatment in Lagos
6 rounds of treatment are planned at Lagos University Hospital; we're asking for help with the costs insurance doesn't cover.
🇳🇬 Lagos, Lagos, Nigeria1,011 views
Yakubu was diagnosed with cervical cancer in July. The oncology team at Lagos University Hospital has planned 6 rounds of treatment, starting in November. He will be away from work for about 10 weeks.
Yakubu is 51, worked as a shop owner until July, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Lagos University Hospital 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes.
Where the $650 goes:
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $65
• Transport to Lagos University Hospital: $170
• Scans and lab work: $190
• Household costs while unable to work: $225
Glad we found this place.

Thanks for sharing this. Your post was clear and honest. We're a small family in Thiruvananthapuram but we're thinking of you.
Take care. Hope this works out for you. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Take care
hang in there, Khadija. Wishing Yakubu a smooth procedure and a full recovery. Don't be hard on yourself for asking. Love from Lafayette.
hope it all works out, Khadija. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Don't give up. God bless
I hope things turn around soon. Love from Setagaya
