Fighting cervical cancer: help John afford treatment in Kinondoni
6 rounds of treatment are planned at Kinondoni Regional Medical Center; we're asking for help with the costs insurance doesn't cover.
Anywhere in the world334 views
John was diagnosed with cervical cancer in September. The oncology team at Kinondoni Regional Medical Center has planned 6 rounds of treatment, starting in November. He will be away from work for about 3 weeks.
John is 38, worked as a tailor until September, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Kinondoni Regional Medical Center 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $1,000 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $620
• Household costs while unable to work: $115
• Scans and lab work: $265
Thanks for reading all this.

Thinking of you and your family. Shared it with a few friends. My father had a similar thing happen so this one hit home.
Sending good thoughts, Margaret. Get well soon. Take care.
Praying for you, Margaret. Wishing John a smooth procedure and a full recovery. My husband and I read this together. Take care
Hang in there. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Greetings from London
Thinking of you. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Sent it to 21 people at work. God bless.
You're not alone. I hope things turn around soon. We're a small family in Mohammedia but we're thinking of you
