I'm the first person in my family to go to university. I'm studying a pharmacy diploma at Dublin Community College, and I'm one semester away from graduating. I have worked as a tutor to pay my way, but this term my hours were cut and I have an unpaid balance of $5,400. The registrar has told me I can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. I have a 3.8 average, and my department head has written in support of my application for a payment plan. Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support my younger siblings. Without enrolling this term I'd lose my place and my scholarship eligibility. I'm not asking for a handout - I want to finish what I started and then help the next student. Everything raised goes to the university's accounts office toward the outstanding balance and the final term's fees. Where the $5,400 goes: • Outstanding tuition balance: $2,450 • Final term tuition: $2,550 • Exam and lab fees: $320 • Textbooks and materials: $80 Thank you so much. - Fergal

Updates from Fergal

  1. Update from Dublin: the plan for outstanding tuition balance is now scheduled. We're at 49% of the goal. Thank you for believing in us.

  2. Good news. Because of your gifts ($1,621 in total) I met with the university and confirmed the amounts. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.
