Since 2023, our volunteer team has run Neighbors' Pantry every Saturday from the back of the mosque courtyard. We started with 22 families, and now we feed 332 each week. Donations have dropped by about 56% this harvest gap, while the line has grown every single week. We rely on volunteers - 8 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Kathmandu market and keep every receipt. Each $5 feeds a family of four for a week. All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs. Where the $450 goes: • Baby formula and diapers: $50 • Fresh vegetables and fruit: $130 • Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $270 Thank you so much.

  • Rooting for you. Shared this with my family. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. All the best.

    • hope things get better soon, Kalpana. This could happen to any of us. Wish I lived closer to Colombo so I could bring a meal. God bless.

      • shared it with a few friends. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Greetings from Mumbai.

        • I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Please keep us posted. Love from Dwarka

          • Thinking of you, Kalpana. Looking forward to the next update.
