Since 2020, our volunteer team has run the Sunday Shelf every Monday from the back of the old library basement. We started with 22 families, and now we feed 319 each week. Donations have dropped by about 58% this winter, while the line has grown every single week. We rely on volunteers - 14 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the London market and keep every receipt. Each $50 feeds a family of four for a week. I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday. Where the $2,650 goes: • Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $1,500 • Fresh vegetables and fruit: $470 • Baby formula and diapers: $530 • Refrigeration and electricity: $150 Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure. - Maverick

        • Sure. The biggest one is rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale), $1,500. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. It helps to be asked.

Is there anything that isn't money that would help Maverick?

          • Sharing the link is the biggest thing. And if you know anything about rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale), advice is welcome too. It helps to be asked.
