Feed 314 families each week at Neighbors' Pantry in San Diego

The Neighbors' Pantry pantry in San Diego is running low just as demand rises; $1,900 will stock it for 12 weeks.

San Diego
Since 2019, our volunteer team has run Neighbors' Pantry every Sunday from the back of a borrowed garage. We started with 23 families, and now we feed 314 each week. Donations have dropped by about 47% this rainy season, while the line has grown every single week. We rely on volunteers - 19 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the San Diego market and keep every receipt. Each $55 feeds a family of four for a week. I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday. Where the $1,900 goes: • Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $1,250 • Baby formula and diapers: $210 • Fresh vegetables and fruit: $440 Every share and every dollar helps.

Updates from Yến

  1. Thank you all. We're at 40% now ($758). I'm honestly stunned. the plan for rice, beans, flour and oil is now scheduled.

Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale) is $1,250 of it. Everything else is listed in the story and nothing outside that list comes out of this page. Appreciate you taking the time.
