Feed 276 families each week at Neighbors' Pantry in Addis Ababa

The Neighbors' Pantry pantry in Addis Ababa is running low just as demand rises; $350 will stock it for 11 weeks.

Since 2023, our volunteer team has run Neighbors' Pantry every Monday from the back of the old library basement. We started with 21 families, and now we feed 276 each week. Donations have dropped by about 30% this harvest gap, while the line has grown every single week. We rely on volunteers - 12 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Addis Ababa market and keep every receipt. Each $5 feeds a family of four for a week. I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday. Where the $350 goes: • Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $140 • Fresh vegetables and fruit: $125 • Baby formula and diapers: $70 • Refrigeration and electricity: $15 I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support. - Zelalem
