Feed 259 families each week at the Sunday Shelf in Dodoma
The the Sunday Shelf pantry in Dodoma is running low just as demand rises; $300 will stock it for 7 weeks.

Since 2019, our volunteer team has run the Sunday Shelf every Thursday from the back of a school canteen. We started with 11 families, and now we feed 259 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 53% this rainy season, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 7 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Dodoma market and keep every receipt.
Each $5 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $300 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $135
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $75
• Baby formula and diapers: $65
• Refrigeration and electricity: $25
I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.

Take care, Tumusiime. Gave what I could, wish it was more
Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Tumusiime
It's all in the list in the story. rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale) is the big one at $135, I'll post a receipt when it's paid. Good question.
Wishing you peace. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. I hope March is when things finally get easier. Blessings.
Best of luck. Your post was clear and honest. After 28 years in teaching I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Thinking of Dodoma.
Sending strength, Tumusiime. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. I'll check back for the next update. All the best
Hope things get better soon, Tumusiime. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. I'm in engineering myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you. All the best
