Corpus Christi
Since 2022, our volunteer team has run the Harvest Pantry every Saturday from the back of the parish hall. We started with 17 families, and now we feed 241 each week. Donations have dropped by about 57% this summer, while the line has grown every single week. We rely on volunteers - 6 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Corpus Christi market and keep every receipt. Each $30 feeds a family of four for a week. All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs. Where the $2,050 goes: • Refrigeration and electricity: $155 • Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $1,650 • Baby formula and diapers: $245 I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.

Updates from Maria

  1. Wanted to say thank you properly. 13% funded and I met with the wholesaler and confirmed the amounts.

  2. Update from Corpus Christi: I made the first payment toward refrigeration and electricity. We're at 10% of the goal. Thank you for believing in us.

  • which part is the biggest cost?

    • Maria RiversOwnerAnswer

Sure. The biggest one is refrigeration and electricity, $155. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. I'll keep the page updated.
