Feed 164 families each week at the Second Helping in Quezon City
Help keep a free food pantry open for neighbors in need in Quezon City.

Since 2020, our volunteer team has run the Second Helping every Monday from the back of the mosque courtyard. We started with 28 families, and now we feed 164 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 60% this winter, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 17 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Quezon City market and keep every receipt.
Each $10 feeds a family of four for a week.
I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday.
Where the $600 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $320
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $140
• Baby formula and diapers: $50
• Refrigeration and electricity: $90
With deep gratitude,
Teresita

best of luck, Teresita. This could happen to any of us. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust. Take care.
