Since 2022, our volunteer team has run Open Hands Pantry every Saturday from the back of a community center. We started with 9 families, and now we feed 162 each week. Donations have dropped by about 46% this harvest gap, while the line has grown every single week. We rely on volunteers - 12 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Kawasaki market and keep every receipt. Each $30 feeds a family of four for a week. I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday. Where the $2,300 goes: • Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $750 • Fresh vegetables and fruit: $1,150 • Baby formula and diapers: $150 • Refrigeration and electricity: $250 You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

          Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale) comes first ($750) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid. Ask me anything else.
