Since 2023, our volunteer team has run Community Pantry every Monday from the back of the old library basement. We started with 18 families, and now we feed 137 each week. Donations have dropped by about 58% this winter, while the line has grown every single week. We rely on volunteers - 7 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Manila market and keep every receipt. Each $5 feeds a family of four for a week. I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday. Where the $500 goes: • Refrigeration and electricity: $40 • Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $280 • Fresh vegetables and fruit: $180 Glad we found this place. - Angelica

Updates from Angelica

  1. We're at 5% thanks to 2 of you. I met with the wholesaler and confirmed the amounts. More news soon.

  2. Good news. Because of your gifts ($24 in total) the plan for refrigeration and electricity is now scheduled. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

  3. Update from Manila: the first invoice got paid this week. We're at 2% of the goal. Thank you for believing in us. - Angelica
