Feed 132 families each week at the Thursday Table in Belo Horizonte
Patrícia runs a volunteer pantry feeding 132 families; this fund restocks shelves for the rainy season.

Since 2022, our volunteer team has run the Thursday Table every Wednesday from the back of the old library basement. We started with 20 families, and now we feed 132 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 32% this rainy season, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 15 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Belo Horizonte market and keep every receipt.
Each $10 feeds a family of four for a week.
I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday.
Where the $800 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $220
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $400
• Baby formula and diapers: $70
• Refrigeration and electricity: $110
Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure.

Hope things get better soon, Patrícia. Looking forward to the next update. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it.
