Help keep a free food pantry open for elderly neighbors in Machakos.

Since 2019, our volunteer team has run the Thursday Table every Monday from the back of the parish hall. We started with 22 families, and now we feed 124 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 34% this school holidays, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 6 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Machakos market and keep every receipt.
Each $5 feeds a family of four for a week.
I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday.
Where the $250 goes:
• Refrigeration and electricity: $35
• Baby formula and diapers: $60
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $155
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.
Updates from Auma
Good news. Because of your gifts ($36 in total) I met with the wholesaler and confirmed the amounts. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.
