Farhana received an eviction notice - help us catch up on rent
A cut in working hours left Farhana short on rent for 3 months; help us stay in our home.

After a sudden layoff at the warehouse, Farhana fell 3 months behind on rent. Last Sunday a termination letter was taped to the door, and the amount owed is $550.
The landlord was understanding for a while, but has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by October, the family must leave.
There are a teenager still in school at home. Moving would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
Farhana has started working two part-time jobs, and is applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
Funds go to the landlord and nowhere else. Any amount left over after the arrears are cleared will go toward next month's rent.
Where the $550 goes:
• Rent arrears (3 months): $390
• Late fees and court costs: $50
• Utilities in arrears: $30
• First month of rent as a buffer: $80
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

Hope things get better soon. I was in a similar spot a few years ago and it did get better. Greetings from Geelong.
