Savannah, my mother, passed away on 12 August after a long fight with kidney disease. She was 61 years old. She was the heart of our family and had no savings or life insurance.
The funeral home has given us a quote of $6,350 and the cemetery needs payment before the burial date of 18 August.
I have already used what I had for the hospital bills. My family is scattered, and many of us are out of work. We want Savannah to have a dignified farewell.
Any help at all means a lot, and so do your prayers.
Anything left over after the funeral will be donated to the Miami hospice.

• Cemetery plot and burial fees: $1,600
• Transport of the deceased: $210
