Nikhil, my husband, passed away on 13 September after complications from pneumonia. He was 41 years old. He was the heart of our family and had no savings or life insurance.
The funeral home has given us a quote of $300 and the cemetery needs payment before the burial date of 29 September.
I have already used what I had for the hospital bills. My family is scattered, and many of us are out of work. We want Nikhil to have a dignified farewell.
Any help at all means a lot, and so do your prayers.
Anything left over after the funeral will be donated to a local food bank.

• Transport of the deceased: $90
• Memorial gathering for the family: $75
• Cemetery plot and burial fees: $135
