Matthew, my brother, passed away on 17 December after complications from pneumonia. He was 92 years old. He was the heart of our family and had no savings or life insurance. The funeral home has given us a quote of $5,350 and the cemetery needs payment before the burial date of 26 December. I have already used what I had for the hospital bills. My family is scattered, and many of us are out of work. We want Matthew to have a dignified farewell. Any help at all means a lot, and so do your prayers. Anything left over after the funeral will be donated to the Yonkers hospice. Where the $5,350 goes: • Funeral home services and casket: $3,800 • Cemetery plot and burial fees: $1,000 • Transport of the deceased: $210 • Memorial gathering for the family: $340 Thank you so much.
