Lorena, my sister, passed away on 27 August after a long fight with kidney disease. She was 76 years old. She was the heart of our family and had no savings or life insurance. The funeral home has given us a quote of $1,350 and the cemetery needs payment before the burial date of 14 September. I have already used what I had for the hospital bills. My family is scattered, and many of us are out of work. We want Lorena to have a dignified farewell. Any help at all means a lot, and so do your prayers. Anything left over after the funeral will be donated to a neighborhood youth program. Where the $1,350 goes: • Funeral home services and casket: $750 • Cemetery plot and burial fees: $390 • Transport of the deceased: $120 • Memorial gathering for the family: $90 You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.
