Alka, my grandmother, passed away on 12 March after a road accident. She was 27 years old. She was the heart of our family and had no savings or life insurance. The funeral home has given us a quote of $850 and the cemetery needs payment before the burial date of 27 March. I have already used what I had for the hospital bills. My family is scattered, and many of us are out of work. We want Alka to have a dignified farewell. Any help at all means a lot, and so do your prayers. Anything left over after the funeral will be donated to the Noida hospice. Where the $850 goes: • Funeral home services and casket: $620 • Cemetery plot and burial fees: $110 • Transport of the deceased: $45 • Memorial gathering for the family: $75 Thank you for reading my story.
