Esther's final semester of a diploma in hospitality management in Lagos
A first-generation student, Esther needs help covering tuition for the final stretch of a diploma in hospitality management.
🇳🇬 Lagos, Lagos, Nigeria1,140 views
Esther is the first person in the family to go to university. She is studying a diploma in hospitality management at Lagos University, and is two terms away from graduating. She has worked as a shop assistant to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $700.
The registrar has said Esther can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Esther has a top-ten-percent average, and a department head has written in support.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Esther would lose her place and scholarship eligibility.
Esther isn't asking for a handout - She wants to finish what She started and help the next student.
The payment will go directly to the Lagos University bursar's office. I'll post the receipt.
Where the $700 goes:
• Outstanding tuition balance: $260
• Final term tuition: $380
• Exam and lab fees: $15
• Textbooks and materials: $45

So sorry you're going through this. Looking forward to the next update. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. Love from Swansea.
