Erosion collapse in Asaba: help the Old Town neighborhood rebuild
After the erosion collapse, families in the Old Town neighborhood need clean water, roofing materials and bedding.
🇳🇬 Nigeria1,541 views
The erosion collapse hit the Old Town neighborhood on 26 July. My home was one of 47 damaged, and 12 families are still in temporary shelter at the community hall.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
Funds go to building materials, water purification supplies, bedding, and food for families still in shelters.
Where the $500 goes:
• Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $170
• Roofing sheets and timber: $185
• Food parcels for displaced families: $145
Thank you so much.

Stay strong, Fatima. Gave what I could, wish it was more. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like.
A colleague of mine might know someone for this in Delta. I'll ask around and let you know
