Nitin was diagnosed with a hernia that has become strangulated in August. The surgeon at Aurangabad University Hospital recommended emergency hernia repair, and He is scheduled for November. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $2,400, and after what our health plan will pay we're still $1,200 short. my son has been in and out of Aurangabad University Hospital since August. The doctors say a hernia that has become strangulated will get worse without emergency hernia repair. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $2,400 is more than we can find. While we wait, Nitin struggles with daily life and can't look after the children alone. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there. The recovery period is expected to take about 3 weeks. During that time Nitin won't be able to look after the children alone, so the costs keep growing. The money goes straight to the treatment bills, and I'll share the invoices as they're paid so you can see exactly what your gift did. Where the $1,200 goes: • Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $520 • Hospital stay (2 nights): $410 • Pre-operative tests and imaging: $70 • Post-operative medication: $55 • Physiotherapy sessions: $95 • Travel and lodging for the family: $50 Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.
