In June I was diagnosed with osteoarthritis in the right knee. My surgeon at Springfield Community Hospital recommended emergency hernia repair, and I have been placed on the schedule for September. The hospital's financial office gave me a written estimate of $10,750, and after what the government subsidy will pay, I'm still $5,350 short.
Doctors at Springfield Community Hospital told me osteoarthritis in the right knee will get worse without emergency hernia repair. I work as a market vendor, and I have saved what I can, but the estimate of $10,750 is far beyond what I've.
Until the surgery I can't work full days, and my hours as a market vendor have already been cut. Every week of waiting means more pain and a bigger risk.
Recovery is expected to take about 8 weeks. I'll not be able to work a full shift during that time, so this has become a financial emergency as well as a medical one.

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Bin.
Sure. The biggest one is physiotherapy sessions, $900. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. Thanks for asking.
