The electricity and water account is 3 months behind. I received a disconnection notice that says service will be cut off on July unless I pay $100. I have never been late before a reduction in hours.
I called the provider and asked about a payment plan, but they need a down payment of $20 first, which I don't have.
I live with a parent on oxygen therapy, and going through the cold months without electricity and water isn't safe. We would also lose the ability to run the medical equipment at home.
I'm working on getting back on my feet, and will pay forward whatever help I can once I'm steady.
Every dollar goes to the account in Atim's name; a copy of the paid bill will be shared in the updates.
Where the $100 goes:
• Water arrears: $50
• Reconnection and late fees: $10
• Down payment on a payment plan: $40
