The water account is 4 months behind. I received a disconnection notice that says service will be cut off on November unless I pay $150. I have never been late before August's medical emergency. I called the provider and asked about a payment plan, but they need a down payment of $30 first, which I don't have. I live with a newborn, and going through the rainy season without water isn't safe. Without it we can't refrigerate insulin and food, or keep the house at a safe temperature. I'm working on getting back on my feet, and will pay forward whatever help I can once I'm steady. Every dollar goes to the account in Putri's name; a copy of the paid bill will be shared in the updates. Where the $150 goes: • Gas arrears: $85 • Reconnection and late fees: $25 • Down payment on a payment plan: $40 I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support. - Putri

praying for you, Putri. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Don't be hard on yourself for asking.

    • Hang in there. I was in a similar spot a few years ago and it did get better. After 24 years in construction I know how hard it's to ask for anything. God bless.
