Don't let Mabel's family go through the cold months without electricity

Mabel is behind on electricity bills after losing my job in February and needs $100 to avoid a shut-off.

The electricity account is 2 months behind. I received a disconnection notice that says service will be cut off on May unless I pay $100. I have never been late before losing my job in February. I called the provider and asked about a payment plan, but they need a down payment of $25 first, which I don't have. I live with two young children, and going through the cold months without electricity isn't safe. The children would have no light to study by. I'm working on getting back on my feet, and will pay forward whatever help I can once I'm steady. The money will go directly to the utility provider, and I'll post the paid statement here. Where the $100 goes: • Utility arrears: $65 • Reconnection and late fees: $15 • Down payment on a payment plan: $20 I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen. - Mabel
