Don't let Lorenzo's family go through winter without electricity
Lorenzo is behind on electricity bills after losing my job in June and needs $700 to avoid a shut-off.

The electricity account is 3 months behind. I received a disconnection notice that says service will be cut off on September unless I pay $700. I have never been late before losing my job in June.
I called the provider and asked about a payment plan, but they need a down payment of $175 first, which I don't have.
I live with two young children, and going through winter without electricity isn't safe. We can't cook, keep medicine cold or heat the home.
I'm working on getting back on my feet, and will pay forward whatever help I can once I'm steady.
The money will go directly to the utility provider, and I'll post the paid statement here.
Where the $700 goes:
• Electricity arrears: $250
• Reconnection and late fees: $145
• Down payment on a payment plan: $305
With deep gratitude,
Lorenzo
