Don't let Chiamaka's family go through the cold months without water
A disconnection notice for water arrived and Chiamaka needs $110 before May.
🇳🇬 Kano, Nigeria915 views
The water account is 4 months behind. Chiamaka received a disconnection notice that says service will be cut off on May unless $110 is paid. She had never been late before March's medical emergency.
Chiamaka called the provider and asked about a payment plan, but they need a down payment of $15 first, which isn't available.
The household includes three children under ten, and going through the cold months without water isn't safe. We would also lose the ability to run the medical equipment at home.
Chiamaka is working on getting back on her feet, and wants to pay it forward once steady.
Every dollar goes to the account in Chiamaka's name; a copy of the paid bill will be shared in the updates.
Where the $110 goes:
• Water arrears: $85
• Reconnection and late fees: $20
• Down payment on a payment plan: $5

Take care, Femi. It takes guts to ask. Well done. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. Greetings from Caloocan.
Is there anything that isn't money that would help Chiamaka?

You're not alone. I hope your landlord gives you a bit more time while this comes together. Put this on a community board in Varanasi this morning. Greetings from Varanasi.
Sending love, Femi. Hope this works out for you. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it
