Cristina's final semester of a degree in social work in Alcalá de Henares
A first-generation student, Cristina needs help covering tuition for the final stretch of a degree in social work.

I'm the first person in my family to go to university. I'm studying a degree in social work at the Alcalá de Henares Institute of Technology, and I'm two terms away from graduating. I have worked as a warehouse packer to pay my way, but this term my hours were cut and I have an unpaid balance of $2,850.
The registrar has told me I can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. I have a 3.9 average, and my faculty supervisor has written in support of my application for a payment plan.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support my younger siblings. Without enrolling this term I'd lose my place and my scholarship eligibility.
I'm not asking for a handout - I want to finish what I started and then help the next student.
The payment will go directly to the the Alcalá de Henares Institute of Technology bursar's office. I'll post the receipt.
Where the $2,850 goes:
• Exam and lab fees: $220
• Outstanding tuition balance: $1,200
• Final term tuition: $1,430
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

Thanks for sharing this, Cristina. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Don't be hard on yourself for asking. Thinking of Alcalá de Henares.
