Corpus Christi flash flood relief - the families of Eastgate Lane
After the flash flood, families in the families of Eastgate Lane need clean water, roofing materials and bedding.

The flash flood hit the families of Eastgate Lane on 10 August. My home was one of 24 damaged, and 4 families are still in temporary shelter at the community hall.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
We buy supplies locally and in bulk, so the money goes further. Receipts and photos will be posted in updates.
Where the $8,000 goes:
• Roofing sheets and timber: $3,450
• Clean water and purification supplies: $1,150
• Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $600
• Food parcels for displaced families: $1,950
• Tools and labor for repairs: $850
Thanks for reading all this.

Hang in there, Vivian. Great idea, hope you get there.
projects like this are what make a place worth living in. My husband and I read this together. God bless
you're not alone, Vivian. Gave what I could, wish it was more. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Take care.
