Lahore
Pioneer Beach has been used as an informal dump for years. This July, 51 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 114 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good. We have a plan agreed with the district council, including native species selected by a local botanist. The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade. All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials. We'll post planting day photos and a count of every sapling planted. Where the $300 goes: • Native saplings and stakes: $185 • Tools and protective gear: $65 • Waste removal and skip hire: $40 • Signage and educational materials: $10 I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to. - Shaista

  • Hope things get better soon. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Blessings.

      how is Shaista doing now?

      • You're not alone, Shaista. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Greetings from Fort Worth

        • Your post was clear and honest. After 6 years in farming I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Take care.
