Clean streets and rivers for Alcalá de Henares: restoring Liberty Beach
Help us clean and replant Liberty Beach before the November planting window closes.
🇪🇸 Madrid, Spain1,766 views
Liberty Beach has been used as an informal dump for years. This August, 111 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 42 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the city parks department, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
We'll post planting day photos and a count of every sapling planted.
Where the $1,200 goes:
• Native saplings and stakes: $490
• Tools and protective gear: $135
• Waste removal and skip hire: $460
• Signage and educational materials: $115
Thank you so much.

Thinking of you and your family, Itzel. Looking forward to the next update. My father had a similar thing happen so this one hit home.
Hang in there. Shared this with my family. After 7 years in nursing I know how hard it's to ask for anything.
Hope things get better soon. This could happen to any of us. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust. Love from Mandaue.
