I'm the first person in my family to go to university. I'm studying a diploma in hospitality management at Brisbane University, and I'm two terms away from graduating. I have worked as a library assistant to pay my way, but this term my hours were cut and I have an unpaid balance of $4,650.
The registrar has told me I can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. I have a 3.9 average, and my professor has written in support of my application for a payment plan.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support my younger siblings. Without enrolling this term I'd lose my place and my scholarship eligibility.
I'm not asking for a handout - I want to finish what I started and then help the next student.
Everything raised goes to the university's accounts office toward the outstanding balance and the final term's fees.
Where the $4,650 goes:
• Outstanding tuition balance: $1,250
• Final term tuition: $2,950
• Exam and lab fees: $320
• Textbooks and materials: $130
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

Thinking of you. Shared it with a few friends. Thinking of Brisbane.
Hang in there. It takes guts to ask. Well done. My sister had a similar thing happen so this one hit home
Your post was clear and honest. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend. Greetings from Shubra
Stay strong, Christopher. Hope this works out for you. I'm in nursing myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you. Blessings.
Thinking of you, Christopher. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. Thinking of Brisbane.
