Building collapse in 6th of October City: help the Harbor neighborhood rebuild
The building collapse damaged 23 homes in the Harbor neighborhood. We're raising funds for repairs, supplies and temporary shelter.

The building collapse hit the Harbor neighborhood on 6 September. My home was one of 23 damaged, and 8 families are still in temporary shelter at a mosque and church hall.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
We buy supplies locally and in bulk, so the money goes further. Receipts and photos will be posted in updates.
Where the $650 goes:
• Food parcels for displaced families: $220
• Tools and labor for repairs: $300
• Clean water and purification supplies: $130
Glad we found this place.
Updates from Samira
Good news. Because of your gifts ($25 in total) I met with the suppliers and confirmed the amounts. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

Update from 6th of October City: I made the first payment toward tools and labor for repairs. We're at 11% of the goal. Thank you for believing in us.
